The 5 year old mare, bred by Karen’s brother Johnny, won her bumper under Shane Fenelon. He cleverly switched her off the rails in the final two furlongs, enabling her to use her speed to race clear for owners Big Time Billy Racing, named after Karen’s father, renowned showman Bill Bryan.
Peter and his wife Karen have transformed what began as a modest bungalow and a couple of fields into a top class racing yard.
In the last 10 seasons, horses trained by Peter Bowen have won almost 500 races and more than £4.5 million in prize money.
